Loving God,
When the earth trembles and homes fall to dust, hold our hearts, God.
When grief shakes families to the core, hold our hearts, God.
Send our hands and feet to help however we can.
Our sisters and brothers in Venezuela live this now.
God of love and mercy, may we match your love in the way we respond – now.

LITTLE PEBBLES
Little Pebbles, for babies, pre-schoolers and their carers, meets every Tues 10-11.30am during term-time in the Cottages. The next session is Tues 8th September.

Patrick, the website owner, and some friends have visited a total of 201 churches. As well as photographing the churches themselves, they look out for interesting headstones, especially those of armed services personnel. Climate Emergency Film
Tues 28th July, 7pm at P&J GL50 2DD
Free screening of a new film, introduced by Chris Packham, which explains the latest science about the extent of the climate emergency we are facing, and what we can do. The film offers a concise, evidence-based overview from experts across areas including climate, food, health, economics, national security and extreme weather.

MARY MAGDALENE
This week, the church calendar commemorates Mary of Magdala. Although not one of the 12, she followed Jesus closely, supported his ministry, stood by the cross when many fled, and was the first witness to the Resurrection. Having experienced Christ’s liberating power in her own life (Luke 8.1-3), she responded with love, courage, and devotion. Her faith was simple, direct and trusting – she was more concerned with following Jesus, rather than understanding everything first… perhaps that is a challenge for us too? Jesus honoured her faithful witness by appearing to her first and sending her to proclaim the Resurrection to the disciples, as the ‘Apostle to the Apostles.’
