PRAYER FOR RACIAL JUSTICE SUNDAY

Merciful God, you are righteous and love justice: stir the hearts of your people that, rejoicing in our diversity, we may repent of the wrongs of the past, and, by your grace, seek the peaceable kingdom of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

The Lent icon is now available on the Home page of the website www.stpetersleck.org

For the Lent appeal for CCP, the idea is that during the run up to Easter instead of giving something up for Lent an item of food is donated to CCP for each day. The response to this in previous years has been very positive, so if you are able, please join in again this year. I am more than happy to collect from your home, just drop me an email to gilly_whittingham@btinternet.com

Many thanks, Gilly Whittingham.

13th– 14th Feb 2026 for School Years 6-13

A chance for all who attend our youth activities and Churches (e.g. Tuesday youth, ENC Youth, Youth in a Pod, Boy’s Group, School CU groups, St Peter’s Choir) to gather for a fun weekend of building on friendships, making memories, and opportunities for worship & exploring faith together. Young people are also welcome to bring friends. To find out full details, click here or contact Abbie at abbie@southcheltyouth.org.uk.

We have begun the New Year with a genuine sense of hope, celebrating a team that feels more settled with a renewed commitment to working together in new ways, and a shared desire to enable our people and resources to reach out more creatively. Thank you to everyone who is making this possible through your presence, generosity and prayers.

At present, we have Fr Fadi Diab, from St. Andrew’s Ramallah, with us at P&J for a short visit, and very soon we will be saying goodbye to Rev Ruth as she begins her maternity leave, wishing her every blessing in the weeks and months ahead. Rev Catherine Milsom will be covering during this time, holding the space until Ruth’s return, and we look forward to welcoming and working with her.

Rev Adrian has now been appointed as the Leader of Emmanuel Network Church (ENC) on a full-time stipendiary basis, with a licensing service planned in the near future to formalise this. (Thank you, Adrian, for saying yes to ENC, to the team, and to God in taking up this appointment). It has also been encouraging to see the re-launch of the Babies and Toddlers network and the start of a new Boys’ Group at Emmanuel.

Our youth provision continues to go from strength to strength under Abbie’s leadership. We are deepening our engagement with the local secondary schools, including the establishment of a new Christian Union at High School Leckhampton. Numbers at the Tuesday evening youth gatherings are growing, and there is much anticipation for the Youth Residential at Viney Hill this coming half term.

At St Christopher’s, work is progressing on a new kitchenette as part of a wider mission space for the community, led by Rev Lauren.

At St Peter’s, the installation of solar panels and a heat pump, for the church cottages, is being finalised; there are also plans to extend the current Garden of Remembrance for ashes burials, as space is running low.

At St Stephen’s, a steering committee has been formed to take forward plans to develop the church space so it can be used in new and creative ways, supporting both the worship and the wider community.

Please keep all of these developments in your prayers as we continue to move forward together as a team this year. Rev Gary.
