SAFEGUARDING at ST PETER’S
“Safeguarding is a fundamental expression of our vocation to serve the nation and to ensure that every person … can be confident that the Church is a place they will be safe, valued, and protected.”
(Bishop Robert, Church Times, 10/4/26)
We ALL have a duty as Christians to protect those who are vulnerable, including children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Important ways in which we keep everyone safe are by carrying out DBS checks and by undergoing Safeguarding Training.
Follow the links for more information or speak to Sally Campion, Parish Safeguarding Officer or Liz Johnson, DBS Evidence Checker.
LECKHAMPTON COURT BAKERS
Sue Ryder/Leckhampton Court Bakers is a baking group which makes cakes, biscuits and some savoury items such as cheese scones or straws, on an ad hoc basis for fundraising events throughout the year. All money raised goes directly to Leckhampton Court hospice.
The group is informal and I email members when an event is coming up. Bakers contribute as and when it suits them, with absolutely no pressure to get involved on every occasion. We are so grateful for all contributions but would welcome a few more bakers to the team.
We encourage bakers to make what they enjoy and the only stipulation is that there should be no “high risk” foods involved e.g. meat, fish or products which require refrigeration. Contributions need to be labelled with all ingredients.
The next fundraising opportunity is for the NGS Open Gardens being held at Leckhampton Court on Sunday 21st June. Any contributions may be delivered to main reception at the hospice on Saturday 20th June.
For more information, please contact Liz Underwood (liz@blackberry-field.co.uk)
