For the Lent appeal for CCP, the idea is that during the run up to Easter instead of giving something up for Lent an item of food is donated to CCP for each day. The response to this in previous years has been very positive, so if you are able, please join in again this year. I am more than happy to collect from your home, just drop me an email to gilly_whittingham@btinternet.com

Many thanks, Gilly Whittingham.

‘Promise the Earth’ by Julian Allwood and Andrew Davison (published by CUP)

I strongly recommend this book which is short and eminently readable by all ages. The authors (an engineer and a theologian) provide a fresh perspective on what we can and must do to combat climate change. They argue that relying on new technologies is mostly unrealistic, but that we have still time to achieve climate targets if we practise Christian values, and that life will be enhanced not diminished as a result. I have bought an extra copy, as I am so keen to share this book!

Please let me know if you would like to borrow it. Tabitha (tabithagilchrist2@gmail.com)
