Why do we go to church?

Leckhampton Parish Church

Psalm 150.6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! Just as we feel happy when others praise us, God loves it when we praise Him. We sing (and sometimes dance) and make music in church to worship God for who He is and what He has done and continues to do for His people. Psalms (songs and poems) were used throughout the bible to praise to God. Believers in Jesus want to praise him. It’s exciting to join with other believers to worship God in praise and thanksgiving.

1 Corinthians 13.4-7 Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail. This passage in the bible explains to us how we should behave when we are in God’s family. Church is a place we can call home It is God’s house and it’s also special, special because we worship here. Homes are special because that’s where our families are. We all belong to a family, and we have a bigger family also: God’s family, and He loves us. So we all come together in church for services, as one BIG family.
